Every year, Canada invites around 250,000 - 300,000 international students to study in Canada and gives them an opportunity to work and settle there. What is Co-op Program ?

Co-op programs means courses with co-ops which is mainly the practical work experience during the studies. a student in co-op studies would require to complete certain hours of paid or unpaid practical work related to that field..For example if you are doing hotel management you would work in a restaurant for 2 months (for example) out of 12 months. Mostly a student needs to pay a fee to the college/university for these co-ops in case they manage to get the co-op through the college. Mostly these are paid work...and these co-op credits are added to your overall score and also help in successful completion of the course.

Co-operative education at the University of Ottawa allows you to apply concepts learned in class during paid work terms. After about four years of study, you will have not only a diploma that indicates you participated in a CO-OP program but also approximately 16 months of experience in your field of study and a network of valuable contacts. All of these factors will contribute to helping you find a job more easily after graduation.
